Rechthoekige sluitringen worden vaak gebruikt in betonbekistingstoepassingen waar een bout of draadstang wordt gebruikt om twee of meer bekistingsstukken met elkaar te verbinden. De sluitring wordt tussen de moer en de bekisting geplaatst, met de platte kant van de sluitring naar de moer gericht.
